Adjustable Marker Holder

So my bff asked me to make tent food cards for her husbands surprised graduation party!  He received his Masters.....wooohoo for him!!  I used my adjustable marker holder and my sizzix (did a little embossing) to create them.  Here is a pic of the finished product.

Also here is a video of my cricut mini in action.

Since getting the marker holder I have become a Sharpie addict!!  Lol

I just wanted to show you a tiny project I did using the marker holder!!!

Until next time....

Hiding Contour on the Images in the Cricut Craftroom

Okay so I have had my Crciut for a year and a half.  HOWEVER I just found out that you could alter an image.  Sooooo Joann's had the "Simply Charmed" cartridge on sale for like $20 but I couldn't decide if I wanted it bc I noticed the images all had faces.  While this was cute and I was sure I'd use it as is....I knew that sometimes I didn't want a face.  Especially on my food.....a smiling watermenlon!  Lol

Lol so I logged onto Craftroom and went to the "Simply Charmed" cartridge and thought if I played around with it....it would make me make a decision.  This is when I discovered my discovery (if that makes sense)!!  Lol

Click the eye to hide the second layer!

Click on the image.  Then click "Hide Contour"

It will then look like this....

Then put the mouse over the eye/mouth/whatever you want to take away...it will turn red.  Sn:  not every line can be removed...but most can!
Click on it and it will gray out.  I went ahead and clicked on both eyes and mouth.
When you are dont selecting what you want to be removed....click exit and it will take you back to the original colored image.
After I was finished with the 1st layer I also did the 2nd layer.  Now I have a watermelon that doesn't smile.  Lol

Like I said before I am sure someone knew this already....but it was new to me!!  I felt like I hit a gold mine!! Hope this helps someone!!!

Until next time....

Using My Cricut Cuts as Clipart Images

So I am sure what I am about to tell you isn't new...and has already been discovered.  BUT I thought I'd share.  So about a week ago I was working on a baby shower invitation.  Well it is for a set of twin girls.  The theme is "Two Peas in A Pod".  So of course I was using my Cricut Mini and Craftroom to create a few things.  So I used the "Best Images of 2006" cartridge for the pea pod and baby.  Oh wait....before I continue AND I had absolutely no clue you could basically "crop/alter" images in the craftroom ....Ill talk about my discovery of that in my next post. (Check Out My Post About It Here) So this is what I cut....

So it came out great and my friend is going to use it to decorate her baby shower wreathe.  Well I started working on the invites...and I kept thinking to myself "I wish I could use the pea pod I cut for the invites.  Then DING....it came to me.  So I added a layer and used a white square behind what I originally cut...

then I did a print screen and opened Microsoft Pulisher....or you can used Paint I have done both.  Paste and then crop it within the white box....

it will look like this once its cropped.  However it will still have a white background.  But this can easily be removed.  I use publisher...I insert the image on a blank paper.  Then click the "recolor" option.

click "set transparent color" then click anywhere on the white part of the image.  After that right click the image, save as picture file, name it, and VOILA its done.  So this is what I have done with it so far.

I am excited...bc I never knew or thought about doing this!!!  Stay tuned for my next post about "altering/cropping" images in the Cricut Craftroom!!
